Why use a PP bottle
- Clarity with heat resistance – clear PP grades give much of PET's transparency while tolerating warmer filling and cleaning.
- Chemical resistance – PP is unaffected by most acids, alkalis and alcohols, which extends its use to liquid products that a PET bottle could not hold safely.
- Low weight – PP has one of the lowest densities of the common packaging plastics, so it is a good route to lighter packaging.
- Living hinge capability – PP's fatigue resistance allows one-piece flip-top caps, useful where cap loss or loose parts are a concern.
- Steam and hot-water tolerance – PP withstands sterilisation and hot cleaning better than PET, which suits dairy-style and hygiene-sensitive products.
Where a product needs full PET-level clarity at the lowest cost, PET is usually the better choice; where the formula or the process rules PET out, PP is the alternative.

How to specify a PP bottle
- Capacity and fill level – state the nominal fill volume and whether your line fills by volume or by weight.
- Product type and fill temperature – this is the decision that most often rules PET in or out and therefore drives the material choice.
- Neck finish – determines the cap, sports cap or pump that will fit.
- Clarity requirement – standard PP is translucent; a clarified grade is needed if the contents must be visible.
- Colour – natural, white, coloured transparent or opaque. Colourants must be compatible with the food-contact requirement if applicable.
- Decoration – screen print, hot stamp or sleeve, matched to the surface finish.
Applications we supply
Current PP bottle moulds serve drinking water, soft drinks, juice and beverage packaging, milk and yoghurt-style drinks, and cosmetic lotions where a pump dispenser is used. Typical items include 100 ml clear juice bottles, 200 ml clear water bottles, 300 ml milk and yoghurt bottles, and 400 ml soft-drink and round beverage bottles.
What we check before shipment
Release checks on PP bottles normally cover dimensional accuracy, fill capacity, wall-thickness distribution, neck finish and thread engagement, cap or pump fit, seal integrity, clarity and colour against the approved sample, and decoration registration.
Frequently asked questions
Is PP or PET better for beverage bottles?
PET is the standard for cold-filled water, carbonated drinks and juice because of its clarity, barrier and cost. PP becomes the better option when the fill is warm, the product is chemically aggressive, or the bottle needs hot cleaning.
Are PP bottles clear?
Standard PP is translucent. Clarified PP grades give clarity approaching PET at a higher price. If transparency is the priority and the product is cold filled, PET will normally be cheaper.
Can PP bottles hold carbonated drinks?
Carbonation needs a pressure-rated design and a suitable barrier. PP is not the usual choice for carbonated products; PET design specifically for carbonation is generally the correct route.
Do PP bottles tolerate hot filling?
PP withstands considerably higher fill temperatures than standard PET, which is one of the main reasons to choose it for warm or hot-filled liquid products.
Can you supply a PP bottle with a pump dispenser?
Yes, pump-dispenser PP bottles are in the range. The pump and the neck must be specified together, since the pump determines the neck geometry.
How do I get a quotation for a PP bottle?
Send the capacity, product type, fill temperature, neck finish or closure type, target quantity, colour and artwork requirements, and we can match an existing mould or quote a new one.
