Range at a glance
- Capacity range – 15 ml to 500 ミリリットル
- Existing moulds – 10 PP jar moulds
- Material and colour – PP, white and coloured; clarified grades on request
- Lids available – Screw lid, wide-mouth lid, airless pump unit
- Typical contents – Cosmetic creams and moisturisers, hair wax and pomade, salon sizes, chemical and industrial samples
Why use a PP jar
- Chemical resistance – PP withstands most acids, alkalis, alcohols and solvents, so it suits formulas that would stress or craze other plastics.
- Heat resistance – PP softens well above the range that limits PET, so it tolerates warm filling and hot-fill processes far better.
- Toughness – good impact resistance at low temperature, which reduces breakage in cold-chain and rough handling.
- Low density – PP is one of the lightest common packaging plastics, so a PP jar of a given wall thickness weighs less than the alternatives.
- Flexible hinge and cap design – PP's fatigue resistance allows living-hinge and snap-fit closures in a single component, which is why flip-top caps are almost always PP.
- Airless option – an airless pump jar keeps the product isolated from air, which suits preservative-free and high-value formulas.
Clarified PP grades give a level of transparency close to PET, at higher cost. Where a formula needs both visibility and chemical resistance, clarified PP is often the answer.
PP jars in our range

Product pages give the lid and insert options for each jar. Where the size you need sits between listed items, intermediate capacities can normally be tooled from the same family.
How to specify a PP jar
- Capacity and fill level – allow for headspace, especially where a pump or airless mechanism displaces volume inside the jar.
- Formula compatibility – confirm whether the contents contain solvents, essential oils or actives that could interact with the polymer or the colourant.
- Jar diameter and mouth width – wide mouth for thick creams and powders, narrow for controlled dispensing.
- Closure system – standard screw lid, wide-mouth lid, airless pump or a lid with inner seal.
- Colour and opacity – white, coloured opaque or clarified PP for partial visibility.
- Decoration – screen print, hot stamp or label, matched to the surface finish.
Applications we supply
Current PP jar moulds serve cosmetic creams and moisturisers, hair wax and pomade, salon and professional sizes, chemical and industrial samples, and sample or travel-size packaging. Typical items include 15 ml and 30 ml sample jars, 75 ml and 100 ml cosmetic jars, 200 ml and 300 ml moisturiser jars, and 500 ml industrial and chemical packs.
What we check before shipment
Release checks on PP jars normally cover dimensional accuracy, fill capacity, wall-thickness distribution, lid fit, seal integrity under a leak test, appearance against the approved sample, and decoration registration. Airless and pump units are additionally checked for actuation and dose consistency.
Frequently asked questions
Is PP better than PET for cosmetic jars?
It depends on the formula and the positioning. PP wins on chemical resistance, heat tolerance and toughness; PET wins on clarity and cost for simple, non-aggressive contents. If the formula contains solvents or the filling runs warm, PP is normally the safer choice.
Can PP jars be made transparent?
Standard PP is translucent, not transparent. Clarified PP grades reach clarity close to PET at a higher material cost. If full transparency is essential, PET or a PET/PP combination is usually more economical.
What is an airless pump jar used for?
An airless jar keeps the product out of contact with air and dispenses it without drawing contamination back in. It suits preservative-free, oxidation-sensitive or high-value formulas, and it also lets the brand empty the jar almost completely.
Are PP jars suitable for chemical products?
PP's chemical resistance makes it a common choice for chemical and industrial samples where a PET container could be attacked. Confirm compatibility with the specific chemical and concentration before committing, since resistance varies by substance.
Can PP jars be hot filled?
PP tolerates considerably higher fill temperatures than PET, which makes it suitable for warm and hot filling within the limits agreed for the specific grade and wall thickness.
How do I get a quotation for a PP jar?
Send the capacity, contents and viscosity, closure or pump type, colour, target quantity and artwork requirements, and we can match an existing mould or quote a new one.
